It all started when…

the young Matthew and Anienne met at med school in Pretoria, South Africa. They have been practicing medicine for 8 and 9 years respectively. The last 5 of those in Medicine Hat, Alberta. They were attracted to Canada’s beauty, safety and progressive attitude. Port Alberni has always been their goal and they are happy to be reunited with Anienne’s brother (Dr Ean Smit), sister-in-law (Dr Cecile Smit) and their family. Matthew and Anienne have a 2 year old son and a 3 year old dog: both of whom are loving the west coast lifestyle!
